SUPPORTING BREED EDUCATION AND RESEARCH
THROUGH PHILANTHROPY
Valery Siurha is a professional independent artist working in the field of watercolor, graphics and sculpture. He graduated in 1981 from the Ukrainian School of Art and in 1987 from the Kiev Academy of Art. He has won many international prizes and awards for his artwork, which is presented in collections in Ukraine, Europe and the USA.
Siurha went hunting with his father at seven years of age, and since then his interest in hunting dogs and for all living creatures became a real passion in his life and in his creative works. His artwork evidences a particular interest in interpretation of the Epagneul Breton at work in the field.
This featured art piece is a contemporary bronze belt buckle which was created and produced by Siurha. The piece of contemporary interpretation of the Epagneul Breton done in the artistic style of realism expertly captures the anatomical head structure, and correct proportions of the Epagneul Breton muzzle to skull and desired set of the ears. The head study depicted top left is attractively displayed on a bronze belt buckle and there is also a smaller version of the head study done as a lapel pin silhouette (without background) as depicted in the center photo.
The third piece is a watercolor drawing with multiple sketches depicting an Epagneul Breton on point with flushing woodcock, with flushing Hungarian partridge and retrieving a ring-necked pheasant.
The featured items and other examples of Siurha's work may be viewed or purchased at www.siurhaart.com. The belt buckle comes with a leather belt which is 120-126 cm in length and is designed for self- adjustment and shortening of the belt, if needed. The package also comes with the optional bonus of a smaller bronze lapel pin with the same head study of the Epagneul Breton, along with a color postcard collage drawing of an Epagneul Breton entitled “Hunting.”
In addition to his art work, his web site also provides a mechanism for support of the Ukraine Army in its ongoing struggle in the war occurring in his native country.
