For those interested in research or more in-depth study, see the Bibliography, which lists a majority of authoritative sources and references about the Epagneul Breton.

2021 Calendar Proceeds Benefit Joyce Smith Scholarship Fund

The Epagneul Breton Foundation expresses its gratitude and appreciation to Karin Lee-Fournier for her continued production of the 2021 Epagneul Breton Calendar where all profits from the calendar project are donated by her to help fund the Joyce Smith Memorial Scholarship Endowment. The endowment account is managed for investment by the Foundation and funds the Joyce Smith Memorial Scholarship which is awarded on an annual basis to a rising college freshman who has demonstrated substantial involvement with the Epagneul Breton through club and other activities. Persons may submit photos for consideration of publication in the 2022 Epagneul Breton Calendar by submitting them on the Facebook page for Epagneul Breton Calendar 2022.

Congratulations to Christopher Kimbrell

Congratulations are due to former Joyce Smith Memorial Scholarship Recipient Christopher A. Kimbrell upon receiving his DVM (Doctor of Veterinary Medicine) degree from the University of Georgia School of Veterinary Medicine at the Spring 2021 Commencement at UGA. Chris has completed the NAVLE national board licensing exam and will move to Montana to begin his professional veterinary practice in June along with marrying his fiancé, Ellen McCuiston (also a 2021 UGA DVM graduate). The couple will be accompanied by Fen, their Epagneul Breton, who served as honorary class mascot and was a participant in numerous canine research studies conducted at the university during their tenure in Athens, Georgia. Chris previously served as Foundation Treasurer and Trustee for six years and assisted with establishing the foundation at its inception and in applying for status as a 501(c)(3) charitable organization. His active involvement with the Foundation was a factor in being granted admission to veterinary school at UGA, where he served as President of the Veterinary School’s 2021 graduating class for all four years of study.
