SUPPORTING BREED EDUCATION AND RESEARCH
THROUGH PHILANTHROPY
Foundation Focus on Education
A principal mission and purpose of the Epagneul Breton Foundation is to promote general breed education to the breed constituency and general public about the Epagneul Breton. In this regard, the Foundation has developed, administers and maintains a repository of much of the vital information which has been written and is collected about the Epagneul Breton breed. For those interested in research or more in-depth study, see the Bibliography, which lists a majority of authoritative sources and references about the Epagneul Breton.
The most recent educational article is an excerpt about the early characteristics of the Brittany Spaniel as observed in the French Countryside during the period 1906-1908, as the breed was being formally organized in the country of origin.

Tribute to Henri Xavier Guélou
Henri Xavier Guélou of Ploumagoar, France passed away June 22, 2020 at the age of 84. He was a prominent figure in the history of the Epagneul Breton in France and the United States, and was an honorary trustee of The Epagneul Breton Foundation, Inc. He served on the committee (board) of the CEB-France for many years, before becoming president of that club from 1988 to 1992. He was also a qualified Expert Confirmateur for the CEB-France, and was a revered and respected FCI field trial Judge in France and Europe by the entire trialing community. His association with the Epagneul Breton in the U.S. was an outgrowth of his long time personal friendship with R. L. and Pat Dalrymple, which began in 1989. It was Henri’s support and endorsement that played a huge role in expanding international relations for breed fanciers in the United States. See the full Tribute to Henri Xavier Guélou...
